Application

PROXAR-IVN DC surge arresters in silicone housing are designed to protect lines, substations, and electrical equipment in the 1 kV to 4.7 kV range. The highly non-linear characteristics of the varistors used in their construction make them an effective replacement for traditional horn-type surge arresters, increasing supply reliability. They offer very high energy absorption capability and provide effective protection for traction equipment against repeated lightning strikes, induced surges, and transient overvoltages.

Working conditions

PROXAR-IVN DC arresters are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use in moderate and tropical climates at altitudes up to 1000 m above sea level. Their compact design allows installation in switchgear with a minimum pole spacing of 150 mm. They can also be equipped with a three-arm mounting base for seamless replacement of older-type lightning arresters (e.g. GZM, GXS, or POLIM H ND).
