Application

SDO OCT (Optical Current Transformer) is an extremely precise optical current transformer from ARTECHE meant for the detection of short circuits in high-voltage mixed lines. The system consists of a fiber optic sensor head (SDO ICT) and a merging unit (SDO MU). SDO OCT operates completely passively based on the Faraday effect. SDO OCT transformers are designed for measurement and protection applications in new-generation high voltage digital substations. They are an alternative to classic transformers.

The SDO OCT current transformers are suitable for operation in overhead conditions of temperate and tropical climates at altitudes up to 2,000 m above sea level. The sensor head of SDO OCT optical current transformers can be mounted on the insulator column.
